As an expert in the 504 and IEP process, I can help relieve your frustration and anxiety by advocating for your child during school meetings. You will gain the peace of mind that your child is getting what they are entitled to and deserve.
What you can expect...
I can help you get your child the appropriate education they are legally entitled to under federal and state law. Your Colorful Counselor has the expertise and experience to guide you through this process. I am extremely knowledgeable and am here to provide you with the best solutions for your child’s education. I have had great success getting many children the appropriate educational services.
Every case is unique and individualized; here are some ways that I provide support throughout your child’s educational process.
Initial Phone Interview and Intake Paperwork:
The first step is telling your story. We begin the process with a simple phone interview to learn about your situation.
Educational Analysis Review and One on One Consultation:
This is when I learn about your child from your point of view! We will talk about your goals and begin to develop a plan. Additional appointments are scheduled as needed.
Email and Letter Writing:
I format and write the letters and emails for you so all you have to do is deliver them.
IEP/504 Meeting Preparation:
This is the time to go over the draft copy of the IEP document before the actual IEP meeting. We will discuss
Educational History Analysis:
You must provide a copy of all relevant data such as RTI. A comprehensive analysis is done with this information to determine trends.
Meeting Attendance:
Yes I will attend school meetings with you! I will guide you and advocate for your student. Please be aware, these meetings can be length... I won't let the school rush the process!
Response to Your Questions:
During the entire process, there are always questions or concerns that come up! Phone calls and emails are always welcome and I will respond as quickly as possible. Emails will get priority responses.
State Complaint/ OCR letter Writing:
In the event that issues cannot be resolved at the school or district level, we will assist you in filing an official complaint to the Florida Department of Education or Office of Civil Rights to help resolve the issue.
